Since the game in effect "settles" the Kaldoric successin, there is no clear cut winner. As a brief summary, each player controls a faction comprised of cards (lords, military forces, etc.). Conflict occurs on the political (influence) and military level (the latter after Miginath's death). Hence, each card is rated for Military power (basically, the number of manors), and Political influence.
In the card game, almost any lord could become Miginath's successor, but influence helps. There are considerably more lords listed than would have a realistic shot at the throne, but everyone listed does have influence.
By the way. CG have rejected this card game as being too limited, too centred on Kaldor, and, therefore, too alien for publication. Sigh.

The city of Tashal plays a significant role in any political/military simulation of Kaldor (I have omitted the city and castle cards from this list because their play is fairly obvious).
Also left out are cards for Lia-Kavair, Mercantylers, and other important guilds (including a Mangai card) all of which produce funds which may be used to influence mercenaries etc. Again, the reason for omission is that their use is fairly obvious.
