1. Caer Hutop
The fortifications at Hutop were built in the 6th century to protect the area from Pagelin raiders. The first keep was a simple wooden "motte and bailey" keep, which was later reinforced with stone walls around the bailey. Just over a half-century ago a stone keep replaced the wooden one, funds have not been found however to replace the old-fashioned walls around the bailey with modern ones. Ten years ago the King commissioned a reinforcement of the walls, to this date towers have been added and a gate-house has been built and some of the old walls have been replaced.
Clan Ambordiensa had been bailiffs for clan Elendsa at Hutop for three generations and had large properties in the area but when the last male member died in lumonia last winter the property was inherited by Clan Ossiand and the King has not yet replaced the Sheriff of Osel... The Keep is presently administered by a local knight.

1a. The Bailey
It's in this part of the keep that most people live. There is a well in the middle of the courtyard and along the walls there are several houses. The garrison and the servants lives in the houses along the western, northern and eastern walls.

1b. Bonded Ostler (***, 3, High)
Indolf of Veldar, has been in charge of the stable for over twenty years and his eldest son will take over this winter.

1c. Bonded Weaponcrafter (***, 3, Very High)
Grelrolf of Stambind have two assistants and is occupied most of the time with maintenance of the weapons of the garrison. He does produce new weapons but never to strangers.

2. Inn, The Mourning Lilly (***, 6, Average)
Clan Igolfin has been running an Inn here in the village for over two hundred years. The Inn has two stories, on the first floor lies the tavern and on the top floor there are a couple of rooms, quarters for the Innkeeper and a common sleeping area. This is the third Lilly, the former ones have burned down, the first because of pagelin raiders and the second because the lightning hit the place. Golt Igolfin took over the place from his father six years ago, he has been in Tashal as a journeyman and learnt to brew very strong dark Ale. Golt also came in contact with the Lia Kavair while in Tashal and is their contact in western Osel-shire. Golt tries to be clever though, he "works" for both the Kiban Lia Kavair and the Tashal gang. His apprentice Fudorg is a spy for the Tashal gang and has begun to unwrap Golts scheme, but Golt is also suspicious of Fudorg and would welcome his disappearance, as long as he does not run any risk of being connected with it that is...
Golt has a number of secret guests in the basement, a group of four Tashal Lia Kavair are staying here a while, this makes Golt nervous... He also has a very dangerous long term guest - Bettina, a member of the church of Naveh who is in Oselshire mainly to try and build a base here. The Navehans have traditionally had a hard time in Oselshire but Bettina is a determined lady so they might have some successes. She also has a contract on the wife and son of the Earl of Qualdris...

3. Tavern, The Whispering Willow (****, 4, Average)
The Caldair family took over the tavern just three years ago. The tavern had a bad reputation at the time and was in quite a bad shape. But Igor and his wife Borga have done a marvellous job and the tavern is these days believed to have the best kitchen in Oselshire. Especially famous are Borga's delicious pies. The willow that grows nearby is very old and when the wind comes out of the south it is said that one can hear the willow whisper of ancient times.

4. Peoni Temple
The temple is a beautiful wooden building, with woodcarvings both on the outside and the inside. The temple is two stories high and there is no upper floor so the temple room is quite impressive. Eland of Ordial has been priest here in the village for ten years and is very popular with the villagers. He lives in the "hospital" (4.a).

4a. Healer (****, 1, Low)
The village priest is a very accomplished healer, he is skilled not only in the arts of treating wounds and diseases but also in the lore of herbs and their use. Services are basically free for any member of the village, strangers are expected to submit a suitable gift to the temple. This house is also Eland's simple home, the villagers also seek his aid if they need to have anything written or read.
