Tonot is a keep in Meselynshire, Navintas hundred, in northern Kaldor. It is in fact the most norterly keep in Kaldor. Built circa 200 TR, its original function was to protect the eastern borders of the Kingdom of Nurelia and to stem the raids of the Taelda barbarians. Now relations with the Taelda are less warlike, with only the occasional inconclusive skirmish.
Tonot is relatively small, with a population of 315, and only 410 acres. However, the land is good, and the ten villages which owe fealty to Tonot provide enough food for the entire area in most years.
The keep and town are situated on the right bank of the Shem River.
